Golden Rule of Equations
Each of the following equations are equivalent. That is each of the following equations have the same solution set.
E = F |
E + G = F + G |
E - G = F - G |
E(G) = F(G), G not zero |
E/G = F/G, G not zero |
Note each of the last four equations can be obtained from the original equation E = F by doing the same thing to each side. Hence this result is called the golden rule of equations for we do unto one side as we do unto the other side.
