A. Addition and Subtraction of Radical Expressions

Radical expressions can be added or subtracted provided radicals are identical. To add or subtract we use the distributive law.

Sometimes radicals may not be identical but after simplification they may be identical.

B. Multiplication of Radicals

To multiply radical expressions of the same order use the multiplication property and multiply as you multiply any polynomials.
